Goat, London

Having recently quit my job in order to dedicate more time to my studies, It was my first free Sunday in a couple of months so I wanted to go out for lunch to make the most out of my free time [ Yes I had also gone for brunch in the morning too, don’t judge]. Clearly I hadn’t booked anywhere, so a few places were completely fully booked, but that was lucky for me because It meant that I ended up having the most perfect lunch in Goat.

Goat is an Italian style restaurant located on the Fulham road in Chelsea. Made up of the main restaurant, a cocktail bar and a hidden “prayer room” this place is perfect for every occasion. Come here for a family roast lunch, a bottomless brunch with your friends or an evening drink with a date. The décor is simple, pub like with dimmed lighting creating an easy and relaxed atmosphere.

Regarding lunch, you can either chose from their express lunch menu made up of a selection of main courses and a drink for £10 though his only includes Monday-Friday.  or from their A La Carte Menu; As we went on a Sunday we did not have a choice, but then again I couldn’t have chosen a better option. I opted for Roasted duck with chestnuts and dried clementine. It was the most incredible dish I have ever tried, a blend of different flavours and textures, a real winner. My cousin opted for the crab linguine, which I tried and also tasted so fresh with a mixture of flavours and spices. For other options you could chose their grilled corn fed chicken with asparagus risotto or a healthy black quinoa, avocado, beetroot, squash, goat's cheese salad. On the menu they also have various pizzas which although I didn’t chose, still looked super tasty.

On the side, we chose to have parmesan polenta fries, truffle mayonnaise, which are the most addictive thing and I have been craving them since. Also on the side you can chose truffle macaroni and cheese or their broccoli and shaved almonds.

I would highly recommend you also trying their bottomless brunch at the weekend. Endless booze [bloody mary, prosecco and beers] with a main and endless sides [paprika fries, broccoli or rocket]. Even more awesome is their pizza option, where you can have as much beer and pizza you want for £35 per person.

If you are a desert person then you certainly would be in the right place. Their desert menu is very attractive, with various things on offer. What attracts me the most is their vanilla and blueberry cheesecake or pistachio chocolate brownie with pistachio ice cream. Unfortunately I was too stuffed to even consider a desert but I will certainly be returning to try one soon!

As far as drinks are concerned, they have a wide selection of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. On Fridays they have a special 2 4 1 drinks offer from 5PM-7PM so don't miss out! Interesting is their Peanut Butter Flip made of peanut butter infused rum, buttered allspice & dehydrated raspberry.

I recommend booking if you wish to come here as they are frequently booked up, and being a great restaurant I wouldn’t want you to miss out. To book a table click here: http://goatchelsea.com
