The Riding House Café is a modern brasserie located on Great Titchfield street in Fitzrovia, London. Luckily for me, this weekend was a bank holiday weekend therefore as we were walking around the area at 9AM on a Sunday Morning, the streets were empty so we thought to try out this extremely popular place in the hope to find a spot for breakfast. Usually it is advised to book here in advance so If you are planning to come at a more usual brunch time then book your spot here.
We entered in this beautiful, spacious modern style brasserie with long wooden tables in the center of the hall and a mixture of leather and velvet armchairs along the side. We were seen and sat straight away in a well-lit area along the side of the brasserie. The feel to this site is very american style with a mixture of textures and coloured coupled with brick walls and side booths.
As we sat down to look at the menu, there were too many options to choose from so we took a while to order. You have your usual breakfast options such as toast, full english breakfast, full veggie breakfast, various eggs on toast, avocado on toast and buttermilk pancakes. Then there are more unique options such as quinoa and coconut porridge, granola, strawberries and poached pear and brioche french toast. Every single option seems well thought of with additional interesting ingredients such as pumpkin seeds, nuts and many more.
We opted for avocado on toast which came with lime and chili, a perfect combination of sour and spice and the quinoa and coconut porridge which was topped with blueberries, goji berries, bananas and nuts. There is literally nothing bad that can be said about the breakfast here, the only thing i can think of is the lack of Matcha Latte - who knows me knows that I go crazy for this drink and it is just that little extra but still, the drinks at the Riding House Café were varied. You have the hot drinks such as latte, cappuccino, espresso and teas, and you have your juices and smoothie options such as red juice, made of carrot, apple and beetroot, a yellow juice made of pineapple, mint and star anice and green juice which is the usual kale, spinach, celery, cucumber, apple, ginger and lemon. All of these juices are a perfect and healthy addition to your breakfast. If you are more of a smoothie lover then why not try their Goji Smoothie, packed with superfoods such as goji berries, acai purée, blueberries, banana, coconut oil, dates almond milk and vanilla.
If you are looking for the full, bottomless brunch experience then the Riding House Café is your place. On Saturdays and Sundays they have a separate brunch menu that contains the usual cocktails (bloody Mary, prosecco) and some unique cocktails such as pineapple express and a saffron spritz. Furthermore the menu comprises of the usual breakfast options with the addition of more savoury things such as Lobster Benedict, superfood salad and main meal dishes such as trout, burgers and your english roast on Sundays.
If you find yourself in central London wondering where to go for breakfast or brunch then do not forget to try The Riding House Café, where delicious food experience is a certainty.
