Looking for a picture perfect brunch location? Then the Daisy Green Collection should be on top of your list. The Daisy Green Collection is made up of 5 individual Australian style cafés scattered around London. Each café is special in their own way, for example their newly opened Darcie & May Green is located on a boat in Paddington Docks where as Timmy Green is a larger complex made up of two floors and an outdoor area, perfect for work meetings and weekend brunches. All five cafés: Daisy Green, Timmy Green, Beany Green, Peggy Jean and Darcie & May Green combine their décor to their unique and delicious food to provide authentic Australian experience.
Having had the possibility to try out two of their five cafés I can safely say they are the “to go to” place for brunch. Timmy Green, located in Victoria in the Nova Complex, a beautiful modern complex. Spread out across two floors, it is a spacious café with the capacity to accommodate 150 people.
I decided to come here for my birthday as my friend recommended this place and I honestly could not have chosen a better location. Not only the food was incredible but also the atmosphere. The spaciousness of the place creates a comfortable and tranquil atmosphere whilst the kind and attentive staff make you feel at home. The extensive menu does make it difficult to choose a dish but I guess that is what makes you want to go back.
A few of their brunch options include smashed avocado on charcoal bread, their award winning banana bread with mascarpone and fresh berries, buttermilk blueberry pancakes, broccoli & corn fritters and the Bondi breakfast, an Australian take on the traditional English breakfast. I opted for the smashed avocado on toast coupled with the banana bread for something sweet. The food is beautifully presented and original and that is what I love about this place. The pricing is very average London, in the £8-£12 range. However if you are wanting to splash out then you should try their bottomless brunch for £39.50 pp, including either granola or a sandwich, a main from the brunch menu and endless prosecco or mimosas.
You can also come here for lunch, where you can chose Aussie barbeque lamb cutlets, tuna steak or a giant chicken parmigiana with duck fat fries… or something on the lighter scale such as their Asian chicken salad or sashimi salad.
In terms of drinks you have your classics, but what Timmy Green has which Darcie Green doesn’t is smoothies and juices. They are a refreshing option alongside your food. I tried the Yogi Berry smoothie, made of mixed berries, frozen yoghurt, edible roses and frozen berries; but I need to return to try their Vegan Nut smoothie, made of banana, cashews, vanilla, chia seeds, agave, almond milk and banana chips. If you fancy coming for an after work drink however then maybe you can be interested in one of their signature cocktails such as Timmy’s Margarita [Zignum Riposado Mescal, agave yrup, almond milk, lime and avocado].
Darcie & May Green is their most recent opening, located on the Grand Union Canal inside two beautifully designed boats. Where Darcie Green specializes in breakfasts, brunches, lunches and casual dinners May Green focuses in serving an interesting selection of cocktails, providing a unique atmosphere for an evening drink.
Their menu is slightly smaller than Timmy Green, but still have some very interesting options. This time I chose coconut French toast with greek yoghurt, raspberries, mango, bee polen and maple syrup. They also serve the classic avocado on toast, salmon royale, quinoa porridge for something warm and a healthy start made up of celeriac toast, avocado, poached egg, broccoli and sun blushed tomatoes. The bottomless brunch option is available here as well.
They have a wider variation for lunch, where they serve crispy calamari, tempura soft shell crabs, jackfruit curry, celeriac stake and chicken paillard. I still need to come and try their lunch but if its anything along the lines of the brunch then I can imagine it to be delicious.
Unfortunately Timmy Green do not take Brunch reservations at the weekend so be sure to arrive early. However it is possible to make dinner reservations from Monday-Sunday. Darcie Green however takes reservations online so click here to book:
